ABSTRACT
Money is an inevitable part of our daily lives. Despite the ever-growing utilization of the credit cards, online payments, crypto payments and various other forms of electronic payments, cash is still very widely used in everyday transactions. This physical mode of payment should have an automated method to check the value of the note that is in circulation. This is especially necessary for the visually challenged people to make use of technology to help them identify what is the value of the currency. We compared different technological approach of cash recognition that identifies Indian money of different denominations. These models detect various Indian monetary notes such as Rs10, Rs20, Rs50, Rs100, Rs200, Rs500, Rs2000. This automated financial procedure is possible with help of Machine Learning. We aimed to implement deep learning algorithms for image classification. We used image input of currency notes and had an audio output which delivers the value of currency note in voice format for the aid of people with weak visual sense but good hearing sense. Various Neural Network models are studied and compared with each other. With the help of our work, the visually impaired can identify several types of Indian currency.
