Cyber Stalking: The Impact of Harassment on Vulnerable Group of Women and Minors

ABSTRACT
With excessive use of technology-enabled social platforms, comes a great threat of being exposed to some cyber threats, with a total userbase of 4.95 billion users that uses internet on daily basis a total of 4.62 billion people uses social media platforms to interact with one another across the globe, the frequent users of these platforms have been acknowledged to result in several positive implications for the users, such as building an social empire of professional connections, growing up the sales, financial benefits, promotion etc., However some fall on the dark side is associated with excessive use of such platforms by sharing fake news, cyber bullying, cyber stalking, trolling, harassing, unwanted comments on physical appearance, caste, gender etc. . In this research paper we will discuss cases based on cyberstalking and cyber bullying on vulnerable group of people in the society i.e., women, minors etc around the globe based on real incidents and case studies. Studies to date from the globe indicates the high frequency and serious impact that cyberbullying and stalking has on victim’s metal and physical state. This paper presents a glimpse into the anomalous behaviour and tactics stalkers use to harass the vulnerable group in the society.
