Data Acquisition System for Vibration Analysis in Lab Monitoring of Rotating Machinery

Author Name : Pushparaj Chukka, Mahima Devarapalli

ABSTRACT This project presents a data acquisition and vibration analysis designed to analyze servo motors in rotating machinery, utilizing Raspberry Pi 3, Arduino Uno, and the ADXL345 accelerometer. The Futaba S3003 servomotor is the primary actuator, with performance monitored through data acquisition techniques. The system collects real-time data such as angular position, vibration, and acceleration to detect potential abnormalities in the servomotor’s operation. Envelope analysis is applied to the vibration data to identify abnormal patterns, such as mechanical wear or unbalanced loads. The combination of affordable hardware and signal processing techniques offers an accessible solution for lab monitoring and industrial applications, enabling predictive maintenance and minimizing machine downtime.
