Decentralized File Storage Website using Blockchain

ABSTRACT

In 2008, first decentralized blockchain was conceptualized by Satoshi Nakamoto.Blockchain is the new and popular form of decentralized, distributed computing idea . There are lot of advantages of blockchain .Some of them are improved security and privacy, reduced costs, increasing speed, immutability. Blockchain benefits various industries such as IT, Healthcare, Financial.

Almost 94% of all businesses today use centralized cloud solutions for data storage.Each day people generate lot of files and want to store them at some place .But most of the time they use centralized systems which is not much secured. But blockchain is decentralized which keeps files, data secured. This project implements the blockchain concept by using backend technology such as NodeJS along with the front-end technologies such as ReactJs, Bootstrap, react-Bootstrap.It uses Ethereum which provides smart contract functionality.It also uses truffle framework which is used to create smart contract.

Decentralized File Storage Website allows to upload files in a decentralized way. It runs in a blockchain and interplanetary file system (ipfs). It splits files into various chunks of data called blocks and then encrypts each block with hashkeys. Data is stored in ipfs .
