ABSTRACT

Design & Analysis of Permanent Magnetic Chuck, Magnetic Chucks use magnetic force to hold a work piece in place whiles it is being worked on. The magnets work by inducing polarity into the ferrous work material that connects across its north and south poles. When a work piece is placed across the poles of the magnet, the flux flows into it. The ferrous components have poles that are opposite to the polarity of the magnet and so attract each other. Amplifying and controlling this flux is the key to applying magnets in a metalworking operation. We designed this Permanent Magnet in Solid Works software and performed Flux analysis in both ‘Active’ and ‘Inactive’ states using EM Works Tool extension in Solid Works.
