ABSTRACT

Gear drives are the most widely used part of power transmission systems. These drive’s mechanical flaws can produce noise and vibrations, which interfere with the transmission of power and torque. Transmission mistake is one of the primary causes of gear cracks, profile flaws, and improper tooth geometry. The results of the analysis show the consequences of modifications to the spur gear's tooth profile parameters. In the CAD programmed CATIA, the modified spur gears, the LD-200 gearbox, and its modified model with modified spur gears are modelled and put together. The software ANSYS Workbench is used to analyse these models. Static, Modal and Harmonic Response analysis are carried out. For the LD200, the frequency response is computed in terms of deformation, velocity, and acceleration. The noise and vibrations in the LD – 200 gearbox is reduced without affecting the transmission of power and torque.
