Design and Fabrication of Electromagnetic Braking

ABSTRACT The main aim of the project is to develop Electromagnetic braking system. System should ensure the safety and the comfort and safety of the passenger, driver and other road users. The brake must be strong enough to stop the vehicle during emergency within shortest distance. The conventional braking system are bulky and power to weight ratio is low. Electromagnetic braking system is hi-tech braking system finds its use in small and heavy vehicles like car, jeep, truck, busses etc. The modification includes fabricating a braking system which is small, compact in size. The design is simplerwhich works according to Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. Key words: Electromagnetic Brake, Neodymium magnet, Eddy current
