Design and Structural Analysis of Singleplate Clutch Using Ansys

ABSTRACT
This paper represents the design and structural analysis of single plate clutch plate Depending on the size and applied materials. Automotive clutchplate is of the main components in production machinery and not only in vehicles. Structural analysis and design of the clutch was performed by using the finite element analysis [FEA] method. Firstly , the input data for numerical analysis was solved. Numerical analysis was performed on the ANSYS software.
The clutch is the important components in automobiles. The power developed by engine is transmitted to the system by means of clutch. The failure of such a critical component during service can stop the working of whole application . Thus the design and structural analysis of clutch is required before its manufacturing and final use, which includes determination of stresses and deformation developed in clutch plate by varying its size and friction material with the help of software approach.
