Digitalization of Health-Care Communication and Services in India: An Overview of Its Relevance in Present and Future Perspective

ABSTRACT

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is changing our life-style day by day for all concerned. Health-care communication has also changed its dimensions using ICT. Effective communication both intra-hospital and inter-hospital is important for health care providers to protect their patients, save on costs, and increase day to day operating efficiency. Each health care system has multiple forms of communication that administrators and staff must be trained to use properly and appropriately. Understanding how standard communication methods work is the first step in ensuring that a hospital is running as smoothly as possible for both the patient’s and the hospital’s sake. Organizations with strong communication policies can enrich their patients’ health, while those that don’t have effective procedures in place can negatively impact patient well-being. Health care professionals and institutions need to recognize the importance of communication in health-care in order to thrive. The launch of National Digital Health Mission (NDHM) was the unprecedented digital initiative is being seen as the first major step towards universal health coverage in India. Through the NDHM, the government is endeavoring to leverage the existing digital infrastructure such as the framework related to Aadhar, UPI and so on of internet-enabled smartphones to create a cohesive digital system. The purpose of preparing the article is to find out the importance and relevance of health-care communication and services now a days, when we are going through a pandemic situation worldwide. There-fore the study is focused on the government initiative to digitalize the health-care communication system and its effectiveness as well as the acceptability of these digitalization on the digital illiterate. The study also narrates aboutthe facilities of the companies providing health-care services to the people.
