Diversity of Periphyton and their Seasonal variation of density in the Song River at Raiwala, District Dehradun (Uttarakhand), India

ABSTRACT
During the year 2020-21, the 48 taxa of periphyton were found in Song river, near satyanaryan temple, belonging to six groups Chlorophyta, Bacillariophyta, Copepoda, Rotifera, Cladocera and Euglenophyta. In chlorophyta 18 genera namely : chara, chlamydomans, chlorella, vulgaris, chlorococum humicola, cladophora, clostrerium, coelastrum, spharecium, cosmarium, microspora, oedognium, pediastrum duplex, peadiastrum simplex, scenedesmus, spirogyra, straustrum chasetrocerous, ulotrix, volvox were found.
In Bacillariophyta : 17 genera namely- Amphora, Ceratoneses. Cyclotella, Cymbella, Denticula, Diatoma, Epithemia, Fragllaria, Gomphoneies, Grrosigma, Melosira, Navicula, Nitzschia intermedia Nostoc, Pinnularia, Synedra ulna and tabellaria were found. In Copepod : 2 genera namely cyclops vicinus, microcyclolops were found. In Roifera :- 4 genera namely Keratella, Monostyla, Philodina roseola, vorticella were found. In Cladocera : 5 genera namely, Alona affinis and Diptera were found. In Egulenophyta, 2 genera namely Euglena and Trachelomonas were found.
