Does Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s Educational Idea of Quality Primary Education as a Fundamental Right Achieved in India?

ABSTRACT

Former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam has always said that the future of the nation depends on the quality of primary education imparted and while emphasizing the importance of primary education, he always advocated that quality primary education must be made a fundamental right of Indian citizens. The present research article analyzes the relevance of his idea of quality Primary Educationas a fundamental right in the Context of the Present Scenario.Thispaper reported that one of the challenges discussed by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam has been resolved quantitively as more than 99 percent of students are enrolled presently at the primary level but the quality of primary education remains a major concern.Therefore, it can be said that there is a need to improve the quality of primary education then only Dr. Kalam's dream can be fulfilled.
