ABSTRACT

Early Childhood Education (ECE) proves a strong foundation for lifelong learning for children aged 0 to 6. This education focuses on the holistic development of children by developing their five development areas. Understanding the importance of this worldwide government and many private and non-profit organizations jumped into area of ECE to provide a quality preschool education to the children. In this paper, we focus specifically on the India scenario in the area of ECE. Like anywhere in the world Indian government is also making great efforts to provide free preschool education in each corner of India by initializing the concept of Anganwadi from October 1975. Still, so many children in rural India are not getting proper preschool education. Here we provide a comprehensive survey of the current scenario of delivering preschool education in Rural India.
