Effect of Superstrate to Microstrip Circular Patch for Textile based Sensors

ABSTRACT Various textile-based sensors are explored nowadays. Effect of textile materials type and their parameters also contributes on the performance of patch antenna sensors. This work proposed to understand the effect of distinct fabric materials and their parameters as superstrate on the antennae performance scale. As result, increased gain, S11, and bandwidth were optimized in simulated antenna with cotton fabric as superstrate element than the conventional structure. Enriched gain of 4.37dB with reduced back lobe losses and minimum reflection loss of - 24.9dB at resonance were obtained by embedding superstrate on radiating patch of designed antenna.
