Effect of Task-Oritented Approach Along With Modified Feeding Kit to Enhance Self Feeding Skills in Clients with Right Hemiplegia

ABSTRACT

To determine the effect of task oriented approach along with modified feeding Kit to enhance self feeding skills in clients with right hemiplegia.The study was done among the clients with right hemiplegia with poor self feeding skills between the age group of 30-75 .Totally thirty subjects were selected, 15 subjects in control group and 15 subjects in experimental group. Totally 24 sessions were conducted, three sessions per week for 45 minutes per session with 5 minutes interval, with task- oriented techniques along with feeding kit. The control group underwent conventional occupational therapy. The experimental group underwent task oriented approach along with modified feeding kit intervention.The pre test and post test was assessed by motor assessment scale and functional independence measure scale (self feeding). The Wilcoxon signed rank test and Mann Whitney U test was used to analyse the data. The proved that effects of task-oriented approach along with modified feeding kit was effective in improving self feeding in right hemiplegic.
