Effectiveness of Homoeopathy drug Sepia in TINEA CORPORIS
Author Name : Dr. Afshan A Balekundri, Dariker Bateilin Kharmujai
ABSTRACT
Tinea corporis is a superficial fungal skin infection of the body caused by dermatophytes. Tinea corporis is a type of cutaneous dermatophytosis.
Due to changing clinical pattern treatment of cutaneous dermatophytosis has increasingly become difficult, and dermatologists have been forced to think beyond conventional wisdom to counter this menace. The following are observations regarding the most common patterns occurring in India, namely, tinea cruris and tinea corporis.[1]
There has been an emergence of an epidemic of recurrent and chronic dermatophytosis in India. Several reasons have been implicated that are related to the agent, host, and the treatment. Topical creams and lotions misuse has been considered as an important contributor that has led to the persistence and atypicality of the infection.[2]
Homoeopathy is strictly against the use of local applications in the treatment of these diseases.
Homoeopathic clinicians have always underlined the fact that skin diseases are the expression of underlying disorders. A skin eruption, as homoeopathy suggests, is a defense mechanism. It’s the body’s response to combating the invader and hence should be treated with internal medicines.
Sepia has been many times confirmed as a remedy in Tinea corporis.[3]
