ABSTRACT Introduction: Myofascial pain affects 85% of people, with muscle spasms and soreness often caused by trigger points (MTrPs) in the rhomboid muscles. These muscles stabilize the scapula and shoulder girdle, allowing for arm movement. Prolonged scapular retraction and elevation, along with rounded shoulder posture, can activate rhomboid MTrPs. The present study was mainly focused on ischemic compression technique and self myo fascial release by using tennis ball. Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of ischemic compression (IC) and self-myofascial release (SMR) techniques on pressure pain threshold (PPT) in individuals with rhomboid muscle trigger points, measured using an algometer. Methodology: A pre-test and post-test design was used with 30 subjects meeting the inclusion criteria. Baseline demographic details and pre-treatment PPT were recorded. Participants underwent IC and SMR techniques for 3 weeks, with post-treatment PPT measurements taken.
