Effects of Chemical Fertilizers and Pesticides on Environment and Human Health

ABSTRACT The major challenge of the present day agriculture is to feed the growing population and to conserve the natural resources. Rapid uncontrolled population growth in the developing countries leads to the imbalance between the needs of people and the use of land. In the modern world the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides plays a major role in the growth aspects of production and productivity in the field of Agriculture. Although rapid use of such chemical substance led to problems in environment and human health. The rapid use of such chemical substances over a long period of time shows adverse effects on the production potential of land and the ultimate consumers of the products. So the main ideology of the paper is to cover some adverse effects of such chemical substances on environment and human health as well. It is most important to reduce the use of such chemical substances which damages human health and environment. This is possible only with the use of eco-friendly approaches in farming system.
