ABSTRACT Technology innovation has basically changed the relationship between employers and employees, making hierarchies flat and changing business models. Companies are shifting from the traditional office to hybrid workspaces, using smart technologies and digital tools to make it more flexible. These innovations allow for more adaptable work arrangements and facilitate the process of upskilling employees through digital learning platforms. Such changes are of paramount importance because they facilitate employee engagement, which, in turn, unlocks the potential of employees' skills and talents as key drivers of organizational growth and sustainability. To this end, this study explores the impact of technological innovation on employee engagement in a systematic literature review and a current HR reports analysis. The significance of smart applications has been detailed, pointing out that these applications improve employee efficiency, reduce operational efforts, and encourage a culture of continuous learning. This improved efficiency and learning environment motivates employees, leading to growth and sustainability in organizations. Although this review is helpful, it is based on secondary data; future studies could overcome this by qualitative or quantitative research.
