Energy Sustainability IoT Connectivity for Wireless Communication

ABSTRACT Achieving a sustainable society necessitates technological solutions that balance economic prosperity social fairness and environmental preservation. The Internet of Things (IoT) is crucial in advancing sustainability but it raises concerns about energy consumptionand the environmental impact of device manufacturing and disposal. Addressing these issues requires developing self-sustaining IoT ecosystems that minimize reliance on external resources by harnessing renewable energy sources and prioritizing material recycling. This study focuses on energy sustainability in the operational phase of IoT identifying energy provision transfer and efficiency as key processes for creating self-sustaining systems. It examines the latest technologies advancements challenges and research avenues outlining key performance metrics and desired benchmarks for next-generation wireless systems, and discussing protocol integration and implementation challenges.
