ABSTRACT The use of non-rigid connector or semi precision attachment in cases long span Fixed dental prosthesis (FDPs) can be beneficial for the long-term survival of prosthesis. In cases of pier abutment, the use of rigid connector can lead to stress generation on the pier abutment leading to failure of such a long span prosthesis. Non-rigid connectors (NRC) help to compensate such problems. It helps to transfer the shear forces onto the supporting bone and allows the free movement of the abutment. This case report describes the management of pier abutment case with split pontic non-rigid connector.
