ABSTRACT An entrepreneur manages a business undertaking for profit. Entrepreneurship plays a vital role in empowering economic growth and creating new business ideas. This study focuses on entrepreneurial intention among selected female college students in Chennai City. The objective of this study was to examine and analyse respondents’ entrepreneurial motivation, risk-taking interest, making use of available government resources and funds, societal support, and willingness among female students. Approximately 104 responses were collected from different college students (women) in a specific region of Chennai. The data were collected through structured Google forms and circulated among different college students; some of the responses were also collected in the direct interview mode. Secondary data were collected from different journals and published articles. The statistical tools used in this study were the JASP and PSPP. The test reveals that female students from business or entrepreneurial backgrounds are more likely to have an entrepreneurial intention than those without such backgrounds, and other aspects of the students are not exposed to government schemes that are specifically provided to women entrepreneurs. The study was limited in that the data were collected only from the select 5 colleges, so the results may vary if the study is conducted on a larger scale.
