Evaluating the EGFR Mutation Status and Geftinib Effectiveness in Lung Cancer Patients - Peripheral Cancer Hospital

ABSTRACT Introduction: lung cancer is the most common form of cancer among global population. In this study, EGFR mutation status and geftinib usage in EGFR mutation positive patients of lung cancer patients were evaluated in peripheral cancer hospital. Objectives: our study aim is to evaluate the number of EGFR mutation status and response of geftinib in EFGR mutation positive patients of lung cancer. Methods: The study was carried out in the department of medical oncology including 71 individuals for a period of 6 months. Results: on analyzing the data obtained it was found that most of the EGFR mutation positive patients (25 out of 71 patients) shown positive response to geftinib (20 patients out of 25 patients). Conclusion: our study concludes that geftinib shows positive response in EGFR mutation positive patients compared to EGFR status unknown and negative patients.
