Evaluation of Antimicrobial Activity of Hyptis suaveolens (L.) Poit Leaf

ABSTRACT
Medicinal plants have been used since ages for prevention and treatment of various ailments. Hyptis suaveolens (L.) Poit. is such a wonderful medicinal plant. On the basis of the antibacterial assay of this study the extract was evaluated for cup plate method. The antimicrobial screening of hydroalcoholic extract of H. suaveolens was investigated by cup plate method. The extract was shown the zone of inhibition of 22mm for Staphylococcus aureus and 16mm for E.coli. at a concentration of 100 µl.
