ABSTRACT

Aim: Evaluation of Immune Boosting Activity of Phoenix Ductiliferia (Ajwa Dates) Objective: To evaluate  and compare the immune boosting effect of Phoenix Dactylifera fruit extract with standard immune booster Chavanprash Materials and Methods: The Phoenix Dactylifera L. (Ajwa Dates) dried fruits were powdered, extracted with methanol by maceration is use during study. The male albino rats were used. Methotrexate is used as immunosupresing agent. Various biochemical parameters like CD4+T cell count, Platelet count, WBC count, IgG and IgM count, were check to confirm immunosupression after 22 day and immunomodulation after treatment means on 46^th day. Result: administration of Ajwa date extract may improve immunity in rats which is suppressed by Methotrexate. This immunomodulation occurs may be due to antioxidant activity and the effect of other chemical constituents present in extract.
