Experimental investigation of flyash geopolymer mortar using Prosopis Juliflora fibers

ABSTRACT Construction is an everlasting activity and is one of the main contributors to the growth of an economy of a country. Due to growing environmental concerns of the cement industry, alternatives like Geopolymer concrete (GPC) have indispensible for environmental and durability performance. Fly Ash can be used as a substitute for OPC to manufacture concrete due to its abundant availability. In order to improve the mechanical properties of GPM, One of the natural fiber prosopis juliflora fibers. This fibers are easily available. Fibers are treated with alkaline treatment. Geopolymer mortar is manufactured by alkali activation on drymix which contains flyash and fine aggregates. Sodium Hydroxide and Sodium Silicate were used as an alkali activator solution. Super plasticizer is added to improve the workability of GPC.
