ABSTRACT

Bubble Deck is a technique for removing concrete from the traditional flat slab, which serves no structural purpose. This lowers structural dead weight and boosts the effectiveness of the floor. Hollow plastic balls are used in the Bubble Deck slab. By using locally accessible plastic balls in place of the concrete in the Bubble deck technology, concrete volume is reduced. This technique does not need beams or column heads and may be utilized for ground floor and roof slabs. Construction costs are reduced by this method. A bubble deck slab is a cutting-edge reinforced concrete floor design that includes spherical hollows as concrete-saving components. It is a ground-breaking technique that essentially removes all concrete from the center of a floor slab. Due to the central section of the slab not carrying out any structural duties, the structural dead weight is minimized. The slab's center is now filled with spherical balls made of high-density polypropylene in lieu of the inefficient concrete.  The slab is 30–50% lighter and offers thermal insulation thanks to voids in the center. Longer lengths between column supports are possible thanks to the bubble deck slab. In this study, a two-point load test was used to evaluate the slab's flexural strength.  The major goal of this research is to establish the ideal ball spacing and diameter for achieving maximum strength. By adjusting the spacing, the fracture pattern of a bubble-deck slab is also investigated.  This paper presents a study on the properties and advantages of Bubble Deck Slab.
