ABSTRACT The primary objective is to separate the egg membrane from egg and to check the diffusion of ketoconazole (KTZ) in standard, cream, and lotion formulations through that egg membrane model. The diffusion cell was set up using egg membrane that separates two compartments. The donor compartment contained the KTZ dosage form, while the receptor compartment had phosphate buffer solution (PBS) of pH 7.4. The amount of drug diffused through the receptor compartment was quantified using a U.V-Visible Spectrophotometer at an absorbance of 206 nm. The results showed that the drug diffuses from egg membrane and concentration of the diffused drug increases with respect to time.
