ABSTRACT : Speech, as a fundamental form of human communication, is rich with prosodic features that play a crucial role in conveying emotions and individual speaker characteristics. This study delves into the realm of prosody, focusing particularly on speech tempo, loudness and pitch value, to understand its influence on speaker identification. The findings suggest that speech tempo serves as a distinctive marker in speaker identification, with notable differences observed between male and female speech samples. The findings punctuate speech tempo as a crucial marker in speaker identification, slipping light on gender-specific differences. By probing into these prosodic nuances, the study enhances our understanding of how speakers are honored and feelings conveyed through speech. It emphasizes the significance of incorporating prosodic features, especially speech tempo, in assaying and interpreting speech signals for bettered delicacy in speaker identification.To achieve these objectives, various software tools such as PRAAT, WEKA, and Audacity were employed for voice sample analysis, emotion observation, and prosodic feature evaluation. By utilizing these tools, researchers gained insights into the intricate interplay between prosodic features and speaker characteristics. Overall, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of prosody's role in speaker identification and emotion recognition. The findings underscore the importance of considering prosodic features, particularly speech tempo, in analyzing and interpreting speech signals, thereby enhancing our ability to recognize speakers with greater accuracy.
