ABSTRACT

Economic Development of any country depends on the efficiently and effectively working of the various sectors existing in the concern country. Likewise in India there are different sectors which are majorly contributing to the economic development of the country such as agriculture, industrial and information technology etc. The industrial sector is the second major source for the economic development of the country. Coir industry is an agro-based traditional industry and a part of industrial sector in India which contribute to the economic development of the country.In this backdrop this paper makes an attempt to examine the export performance of Indian coir industry. For this purpose the secondary data have been collected from different sources. The collected data have been analyzed with the help of statistical tools like percentages, averages and compounded annual growth rates.
