Author Name : Jezer Darian S. Felizardo Loumeryn Pecho, Marie Antoinette L. Rosete

ABSTRACT

Gaming is often seen as a hobby with nothing better to do. Many people believe that streaming games is an ineffective way of earning money. With this, professional streamers felt discouraged and came into conflict with their families, and lack of support tends to have low income. This study examined the financial literacy of professional streamers and their struggles in attaining financial security in this career. The research utilized regression and correlational analysis to determine the factors and understand the relationship between the variables. Herewith, the results showed that (1) financial knowledge and practices indicate financial literacy, (2) push and pull influences do not affect financial literacy, and (3) work ethics affect the financial security of Filipino professional streamers. Findings will benefit gamers, aspiring streamers, and others by providing them a better understanding of professional streamers' experiences, culture, and acceptance of their passion for gaming and streaming.
