Flight Delay Prediction Using Machine Learning

ABSTRACT

Today, air traffic control is one of the most important aspects of any transportation system. Its principal components are passenger and cargo airlines. Nation after nation has developed several strategies to improve airline transportation over time. Flight delays are unavoidable, and they have an impact on airline profitability and losses. An accurate estimate of flight delays is critical for airline agencies to maximise customer happiness and revenue. We used machine learning techniques and algorithms in this study to try to anticipate whether an aircraft will be delayed or not. This can help airport systems plan ahead of time by predicting flight delays. This paper's conclusions and recommendations will be beneficial to aviation. Better airport system design is possible with the capacity to predict aircraft delays.
