Formulation and Evaluation of Herbal Syrup for PCOD

ABSTRACT : Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a common endocrine disorder affecting women of reproductive age, characterized by hormonal imbalances, irregular menstrual cycles, and ovarian cysts. The management of PCOS often involves a combination of lifestyle modifications, medications, and herbal treatments. Herbal medicine offers a natural and holistic approach to managing PCOS with potentially fewer side effects than conventional medications. This study aimed to develop a polyherbal syrup for the management of PCOS and evaluate its efficacy in improving hormonal balance and menstrual regularity. And also on the formulation and evaluation of a polyherbal syrup for the management of PCOD. The syrup contains a combination of Ashwagandha, Shatavari ,Turmeric and Cinnamon known for their beneficial effects on hormonal balance, menstrual regularity, and insulin sensitivity . Jaggery is used as a sweetening agent, providing a natural and healthy alternative to synthetic sweeteners. Ashwagandha, Shatavari, Turmeric and Cinnamon is known for their hormone-balancing, anti-inflammatory, and insulinsensitizing properties, including Ashwagandha, Shatavari, Turmeric and Cinnamon. Jaggery was used as a sweetening agent to enhance palatability The polyherbal syrup shows promise as a natural and effective treatment option for women with PCOS. Further research is warranted to validate these findings and explore the long-term effects of this herbal formulation.
