ABSTRACT Onychomycosis, commonly known as Tineaunguium or dermatophytes onychomycosis, onychomycosis is a fungul infection of the nail. Onychomycosis is caused by dermatophytes, Candida, and non-dermatophytic molds. For the treatment of transungual infections, there are several formulations containing antifungal drugs, including as gels, lotions, and oral antifungals. One novel idea for treating nail infections is included in these nail lacquers. When used alone, nail lacquers can effectively treat disorders of the superficial, distal, and subungual regions. The purpose of this study was to reduce the length of therapy and give a steady release of Psidium guajava over an extended period of time, up to 24 hours. Potency and patient cooperation were expected to grow as a result. The preparation of nail lacquer was created by simply combining and and analyzed for non-volatile content, drug content estimation, smoothness to flow, gloss, viscosity, drying time, drug diffusion studies, and anti-fungal studies. Among all formulations, nail lacquer composed of F6 formulation, showed the best nonvolatile content, drug release, drug content estimation and zone of inhibition. The drug release perhaps prolonged up to 24 hours and a total delivery of 75.32% was noticed. Accelerated stability study of the exclusively develop formulation F6 was accomplished as per ICH regulations for 1 month at 40 ± 20 °C, which expose that no consequential change in the initial features was noticed. As a result, we can infer that antifungal nail lacquer is one of the revolutionary medications that have the potential to transform the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
