Global History in Amitav Ghosh’s the Calcutta Chromosome

ABSTRACT
Amitav Ghosh is acclaimed historical novelist of the twentieth century. His historical novels always present history in the different way which becomes the micro-cosmos. The delineation of historical facts revives in his historical novel. The representation of historical facts at the surface level looks the history of the specific period, places and persons. These persons, periods and places always influence to the global history. This paper attempts to analyze the global historical phenomena and its impact on the mankind’s world in the novel the Calcutta Chromosome.
