Growth and Performance of MSME:- A Statistical Analysis

ABSTRACT MSME is the growth mechanism of an economy. At present MSME sector have higher growth trends compared to overall industry sector in India. It deals in more than 6000 variety of product & services. Apart from that more than 90% of industrial units belongs to MSME sector which provide support in industrial development of the economy, not only a one factor bit there are a lot of factors which contributes in its growth like its progressive credit policies, ZED Scheme, Stand up lodia, Udyog Aadhar scheme, international cooperation scheme, Pardhan Mantri MUDRA yojana etc. The paper analyses the growth and performance of MSMEs over a period of time ie.1990-1991 to 2019 2020 by calculating CGR for each performance variables. The data for the study has been collected from the various secondary sources. The study concluded that despite of various challenges MSMEs is providing ample of job opportunities in both rural and urban areas as compared to large scale industries also helping in reducing the regional imbalances, focus on industrialization of rural industries, moreover 48% of country's export covered by MSMEs. Their % growth in export and production make its economy more self-reliant as it accountable for 48% of country's exports
