ABSTRACT: Ideotype and Mutation Breeding Play significant role for crop improvement. A application of physical and chemical mutagens is used in many crops. A Crop Ideotype performs best at crop densities and when it is surrounded by plants of the same genotype. Such as an Ideotype is likely to be identified in yield tests based in homozygous and homogeneous progenies. Mutation induced earliness, disease resistance, drought tolerance, change in physiological and biochemical characters which are of interest to evolve superior genotypes for breeding purpose.
