Author Name : Dr. Versha Vahini, Yamini Nayyar

ABSTRACT

The purpose of the paper is to examine the impact of globalization on human rights and to state how can one successfully deal with the challenges it poses. Both positive and negative aspects will be dealt. Specific areas of human rights which the study targets are economic, social , cultural , environmental, and business rights. Globalization has today become a major sort of debate among academicians, policy makers and NGOs. The study shows that though globalization is a process by which capital, goods, services and labour cross national borders, and acquire a transnational character, it is often accompanied by the flow of related lifestyles, tastes, ideas, and even values across boundaries which help reshape local political institutions, cultural patterns and social relations. Role of NGOs is very vital while dealing with the impact of globalization on human rights as nowadays special NGOs are formed targeting issues related to human rights only. It will not be wrong to say that globalization has led to poverty and inequality which has further impacted on various human rights to such an extent that it has caused massive exploitation. All these aspects are covered under this study. Lastly study will be followed by suggestions stating ways to balance out the flaws.
