Impact of Strength and Conditioning Training on Selected Physical, Physiological and Psychomotor Variables among College Level Fast Bowlers

ABSTRACT

 Sport is all forms of physical activity which, through casual or organized participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical fitness and provide entertainment to participants. Sport may be competitive, where a winner or winners can be identified by objective means, and may require a degree of skill, especially at higher levels. To achieve the purpose of the study, forty five male fast bowlers will be randomly selected from Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science and Government Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. Their age of were ranged between 18 and 23 years. They were divided into four equal groups of fifteen each. Experimental group I  underwent Strength and conditioning and experimental group II were underwent combined Strength and conditioning with skill training practice for a period of 8 weeks and group III were act as control group, the subjects in control group were  not  given any short of training programme other than their regular activity. The data collected data from the three groups prior to and immediately after the training programme on the selected criterion variables were statistically analyzed with dependent ‘t’ test and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA).  Whenever the ‘F’ ratio for adjusted post test means was found to be significant, Scheffe’s post hoc test was followed, as a post hoc test to determine which of the paired mean differences was significant.
