Impact of Zinc Foliar Spray on Growth and Yield Parameters of Wheat

ABSTRACT

Zinc is an inevitable micronutrient that sustains the growth and metabolic activities in plants. Zn deficiency causes several perturbations in the plant body at physiological and morphological levels. Application of zinc through foliar spray in food crops ensures nutritional security in human beings. In wheat, a trial was performed during 2020 – 2021 at Lovely Professional University, Punjab, India to evaluate the effect of zinc foliar application with seven treatments and three replications in RBD. Results revealed that zinc foliar spray at 0.5% at later growth stages is more beneficial than early application for the yield attributes while there is non significant increase in growth parameters.
