ABSTRACT

A recent survey by CSIR states that about 3000 research / research papers are produced every year, but there is no new idea. Gross spending in universities and private and government sector laboratories is also very low. According to the latest figures, it is not even 1% of the total GDP. Scientists have been demanding to increase this limit to 2% since then, but no government has been able to do anything in this direction. Not only this, the issue remains missing from discussion in many prestigious national forums. In such a situation, it is not surprising that from the point of view of research / research papers, India's contribution in global science is only 2-3%. It is clear that to ensure economic progress and social development, as much emphasis should be given to science and technology development at the national level, it is not given even the least. There is no doubt that science is being recognized as the most powerful medium of development in the emerging scenario and competitive economy. The efforts made by the government behind this cannot be denied. The Department of Science and Technology was established in 1971 to promote new areas of science and technology in the country, which plays the role of a nodal center for organizing, coordinating and promoting science and technology activities in the country. To achieve technical and scientific skills by 2035, the Department of Science and Technology has also prepared a framework called 'Technology Vision 2035'.
