Improvement in Geotechnical Properties of Expansive Soil Using Different Grain Sizes of Bagasse Ash, Lime, & Quarry Dust

Author Name : Hrishob Guha Majumdar, Dr. Abir Sarkar

BSTRACT : This thesis presents a new method for soil stabilization, combining bagasse ash, lime, and quarry dust. This approach offers practical benefits for pavement construction and an environmentally friendly disposal solution for bagasse ash waste. The research also explores the characteristics of Black Cotton soil, identifying its inherent weaknesses that make it unsuitable for pavement construction. The focus is on developing cost-effective techniques to improve soil performance in road pavement applications.Diverse combinations of lime, bagasse ash, and quarry dust are mixed, spanning ratios of 01:04:01, 02:03:01, 03:02:01, and 04:01:01. Bagasse ash is explored in three distinct grain sizes, less than 50 microns, 50 microns-100 microns, and larger than 100 microns.
