Influence of Panchagavya, Biofertilizers and Vermicompost on Growth and Yield of Cauliflower (Brassica oleracea L. var. botrytis)

Author Name : Radhika, Savita

ABSTRACT Traditional agriculture has been generally based on organic inputs. In past great importance has been given to animal products and formulations by farmers in India Vegetable production with organic farming has been practiced by several farmers in India. Organic nutrients improve the crop productivity, quality and yield as well as enhance the soil properties and make way for the healthier environment for the beneficial soil micro-organism. Organic sources like vermicompost, FYM, biofertilizers, cow based liquid manures such as panchagavya, jeevamrit etc are potential inputs for sustainable agriculture. In modern life different synthetic fertilizers are used more but it reduces the soil fertility as well as spoiling the ecosystem and spread numerous diseases in humans. Therefore, now a day’s people preferred more organic products. Many researchers are confirmed the better results of the organic farming and its effect on the different vegetable crops. The present study deals with the comparative analysis the application of different treatments of panchagavya along with biofertilizer and vermicompost on yield and growth parameters of cauliflower was studied. Cauliflower is important cool season crop in India.Cauliflower being heavy feeder in terms of fertilizer requirement particularly nitrogen may cause a deficit of nutrients in the soil due to heavy uptake. Therefore, Organic inputs fulfill the requirement of nutrients and give significant impact on the number of leaves per plant, curd yield, curd weight, curd diameter, plant height & quality of cauliflower.
