ABSTRACT Anemia, a widespread condition affecting nearly 40% of children and 37% of pregnant women globally, presents a major public health challenge, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. This study introduces a wearable non-invasive anemia detection device that utilizes infrared (IR) technology to assess hemoglobin concentrations in real-time. By integrating an IR transmitter, IR receiver, NodeMCU microcontroller, buck converter, and an OLED display, the device measures hemoglobin levels based on the absorption of infrared light through tissues. The system employs a 940 nm IR transmitter and a silicon photodiode receiver to detect hemoglobin levels by measuring the absorption of IR light. A signal amplifier boosts weak signals, while the NodeMCU processes the data and displays results on an OLED screen. This setup allows for accurate, real-time anemia detection without the need for invasive blood tests. Calibration of the device was conducted using samples with known hemoglobin concentrations, and the results were compared with standard laboratory tests, revealing a high correlation between the two methods.
