Journey of Knowledge Process Outsourcing in India

ABSTRACT

Outsourcing is not new to India. IT outsourcing and Business process outsourcing has given confidence to the MNC’s of world to outsource more complex projects and processes to India. This has given rise to third wave of Outsourcing called as, “Knowledge Process Outsourcing”. The current paper traces this journey of outsourcing in India from IT Outsourcing to business process Outsourcing to Knowledge Process Outsourcing. It also enumerates some key aspects of Indian Knowledge process outsourcing industry. At the end, the researcher also explains the key advantages offered by India as a destination for Knowledge process outsourcing and lists down the concerns for the Indian KPO sector.
