INTRODUCTION
Ancient Kerala has always been a preeminent centre for art forms. Archaeologists have uncovered a wealth of evidence, including many philistine artefacts, lighting upon Kerala's opulent past, and the existence of primordial works of art dating back to the Neolithic Age. As time went by, these art forms developed progressively. During this time, visual art pieces like paintings underwent a significant metamorphosis, turning them from aesthetic artworks to sacred hierograms. These art objects found their new abode in religious houses. This reconstruction of the visual art forms has had a more substantial impact in shaping humankind's future as we see it now. Once charmed through its aesthetic virtues, the works of art were now raconteurs for the Creator God. These sculptures and paintings helped the Almighty, who created man in His image, and thus his divine countenance now has an indelible imprint in the minds of the masses. Shortly after, with the encouragement and backing of the monarchs, artists started to show more eagerness in producing artworks and decorating the places of worship. Moreover, the worship places gradually became the places where men with various vocations congregate. The artists should have assumed that people will enjoy and admire their work if presented there.
