INTRODUCTION La belle indifference is defined as a paradoxical absence of psychological distress despite a serious medical illness or symptoms of a health condition. This condition is most commonly associated with conversion disorder. It is a condition where a mental health issue disrupts how your brain works. This causes real, physical symptoms that a person can’t control. Aim To present a case of a 16-year-old female with conversion disorder and opioid dependence, emphasising the clinical significance of la belle indifférence and guarded behaviour in identifying conversion reaction coexisting with opioid dependence.
