Legal Weakness Evaluation on Personal Data Protection (Case: Online Transaction Using E-Commerce)

ABSTRACT
The widespread development of information technology includes the online market. Government handling in limiting and protecting personal data. The government acts as an intermediary in dealing with e-commerce and makes regulations so that owners of personal data are safe. Policies that protect transactions made by consumers in e-commerce include data privacy. Evaluation of regulations and suitability of laws that protect personal data related to e-commerce and the laws applied in Indonesia include data leakage. The method used is normative juridical research through literary studies using sculptural, conceptual and comparative approaches. The legal sources include privacy rights, personal data protection, and Indonesian secondary law. This study aims to analyze personal data protection regulation in the concept of "Consumer to Consumer" in online transactions through e-commerce in Indonesia. The emergence of novelty in the data privacy law is due to the misuse of personal data carried out partly by online/e-commerce market players. Therefore, the government is trying to mediate between the personal data owner and e-commerce by issuing policies protecting both parties.
