“Management of Acute pancreatitis through Ayurveda” –A case study

ABSTRACT

Acute pancreatitis is considered as a medical emergency in conventional medical system. Full blown acute pancreatitis with its complications worsens the condition. Ayurveda can provide management of an acute pancreatitis is barely known and medical emergencies are previously untouched arena for Ayurved physician. A diagnosed case of acute pancreatitis with complaint of episodes of severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and fever approached to the outpatient   division of the Hospital and was managed by herbal and herbo-mineral medicine  ,like swarnsutshekhar rasa, gudduchi kwath ,Nirocil tablet, punarnawadi mandoor  with the concept of pathya and apathya. Complete relief in subjective complaints has been noticed after treatment.
