Microcontroller Based Battery Charging System with Remote Monitoring and Control Unit

ABSTRACT

To get the most out of photovoltaics, you'll need a Solar Charge Controller (SCC) with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). However, because to the requirements for a high-power system, an SCC device with MPPT technology is pricey on the market. These types of controllers, on the other hand, can be generated at a reduced cost in lower-power applications such as IoT sensors, solar street lighting, and wireless communication nodes. The design of a low-cost SCC for low-power solar applications was carried out in this work using MPPT technology. The SCC is built around the Arduino microcontroller, which controls the circuit and generates PWM signals to regulate the DC-DC converter. Several tests were carried out to verify the MPPT's effectiveness.up to 52% on the low irradiance level.
