ABSTRACT
Now a days, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is entering every part of the human life. Medicine, education, construction, agriculture, automobile is few of them. Now a days, making driverless vehicles i.e., automated vehicles is much thirsty area in AI in which lot of research is going on. Examples of automated vehicles are driverless cars, pilotless flights, rider-less bikes, etc. In designing such an automated vehicle, i.e., driverless car for instance, obstacle detection plays a crucial role. Based on the type of the obstacle, the vehicle decides the action to be performed. For example, if the obstacle is a speed breaker, the vehicle should reduce its speed to overtake the speed breaker, if the obstacle is a wall, the vehicle must change its direction to avoid collision and so on.
In this project, a design is proposed for an “Obstacle Detection Automated Vehicle”, which can detect obstacles on its path. It is an automated vehicle that works on Arduino Microcontroller and employs ultrasonic distance sensors to detect obstacles. The Arduino board was selected as the microcontroller platform and its software counterpart, Arduino Software, was used to carry out the programming. Being a fully automated robot, it successfully maneuvers in a damaged road to avoid vehicle crash or collision with obstacles
